John Mann Gallery

John Mann Gallery came to Hughes&Co with a vast collection of Canadian fine art and the confounding challenge of exposing this art to the market. They had a website that was under-utilized, didn't honour the art and was not generating the organic results they needed. Hughes&Co moved them to Shopify with a stunning custom site that has features we've never seen before on a gallery site, paired with structured data and a super easy to use back-end interface. The site outperformed their former in its first month of launch and has been generating high quality sales leads and net new business for the gallery ever since, while showcasing the work of the stable of artists and the private collection of John Mann.

The art buying community is moving to an increasingly digital one, with buyer expectations changing and accessibility of works improving. To satisfy this trend we built a Shopify website that showcases the works and provides ample detail about the artist, communicating the value of the investment and the integrity of the art.

We built a one of a kind homepage design for John Mann Gallery. The pieces on the homepage change with refresh to show a unique gallery experience, demonstrating the relationship between works and the opportunity to bring many styles and moods of art into one space.

One of the most commonly asked questions in the gallery was "but how will this look in my home?" We solved that problem by adding a "view in room" feature to each product page that allows the art to be positioned on a wall through the use of a smart phone. So not only does the site have an incredible mobile experience, it also has an exclusive one.
