Hughes&Co’s Marketing and Lead Refinement

As Hughes&Co enters its next phase, we’re focusing on one key priority: doing meaningful work with small and medium-sized organizations that aligns with our strengths and vision. Over the past 12 months, we’ve dramatically shifted our approach to attract and close the kind of impactful work that these companies and organizations need—and it’s already paying dividends.

A New Website, Thought Leadership, and More Refined Client Showcases

This year, we launched a new website that better represents Hughes&Co’s evolving brand and capabilities. It’s more than just a refreshed look; our site now serves as a robust platform to showcase the quality of work we deliver and the insights we share. With the addition of our blog and the Big Thinking newsletter, we’re now more transparent about our perspective and process, making it clear to potential clients what we’re all about.

We’ve also taken a fresh approach to how we display client work, aiming for authenticity and purpose. Rather than highlighting every project, we’re focusing on the engagements that reflect our commitment to impact and innovation. This clarity in presentation helps prospective clients understand what working with us looks like and reinforces our commitment to high-quality, results-oriented work.

Proposal Generation: A Collaborative Process That Means More

Our proposal generation process has undergone a complete transformation. We’ve moved beyond generic proposals to a more collaborative, consultative approach that truly resonates with potential clients. By working closely with them from the outset, we ensure each proposal reflects their organization’s unique needs and aligns with our expertise. This shift has helped us create proposals that are not just documents but strategic plans that both parties feel invested in and excited about.

Sharpened RFP Strategy for Higher-Impact Opportunities

In parallel, we’ve refined our approach to responding to RFPs. Rather than casting a wide net, we now focus exclusively on opportunities that align with our mission and promise substantial impact for both our clients and our agency. This laser focus has proven transformative, helping us attract the right kind of clients who appreciate our depth of expertise and our commitment to delivering top-tier results.

Embracing Laser Focus and Choosing Quality Over Quantity

One of our most important realizations this year has been that we need to be selective about our workload to maintain our integrity and ensure outstanding results. This means sometimes recommending other agencies for work that doesn’t align with our focus or doesn’t allow us to deliver at the highest level. We’ve found that this approach has given us the confidence and clarity to move through our workload with purpose, knowing that every project we take on is one we can succeed with.

Feeling Engaged, Seeing Results, and Growing with Purpose

Our refined approach is already showing its value. We’re seeing an uptick in the quality of our client roster, and we’re more engaged and energized in our work than ever before. Each project feels like a step forward, a reflection of how Hughes&Co continues to evolve. We’re prouder than ever of the work we’re doing, and we’re thrilled to continue this journey with clients who share our vision for growth and meaningful impact.
